Slug Stop Living Lab is a participatory initiative in Tartu, Estonia, bringing together residents, researchers, land managers, technology developers, and public authorities to co-design and test practical responses to Spanish slug invasions.

Learning services for curious people and communities

Residents, researchers, land managers, students, technology developers, and public authorities can contribute different forms of knowledge to the Living Lab. Participation ranges from reporting observations and joining workshops to testing monitoring tools and helping shape practical responses to Spanish slug invasions.

Join a Living Lab Session

Take part in facilitated sessions where stakeholders identify local concerns, share knowledge, map problem areas, and discuss possible responses to Spanish slug invasions.

Test Tools and Co-Design Solutions

Participate in field-based experiments using GPS, GNSS, GIS, and environmental observations. Help evaluate monitoring approaches, provide feedback, and improve solutions through real-world testing.

Citizen Science Mapping

Residents and participants record Spanish slug sightings and potential habitats using smartphones and GPS-enabled tools. These observations can be combined with GIS, GNSS, and drone-derived data to build a shared picture of where slugs occur and which areas may require attention.
